How we handle your data at SnoutWalker.
Last updated: May 29, 2026
SnoutWalker is operated by Bridgeshop Software Development Inc. (“we”, “us”, “our”), a British Columbia corporation with registered office at 200 – 1375 West 6th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V6H 0B1.
We do not sell personal information. We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. We may use personal information internally for our own data analysis and platform improvement (in aggregated or de-identified form where possible).
From Walker Subscribers: name, business name, email, phone, address, GPS location during active walks, client/pet profiles, walk reports/photos, emergency contact details, and trusted contact information.
From Pet Owners: name, email, phone, pet name/breed, booking details.
Automatically: IP address, device info, cookies/session data, and motion/accelerometer data (processed in real-time only during active walks for safety features).
We offer several safety features in our iOS and Android apps to support walkers during active walks:
Emergency Contact: Walkers may store one emergency contact (name, phone, relationship). This is used only to send SMS alerts if a walk runs significantly overdue or the walker manually triggers an SOS.
Trusted Contacts: Walkers can add up to 3 trusted contacts. These contacts automatically receive an SMS with the walker’s location and expected return time when a walk starts.
SOS Alerts: Walkers can manually trigger an SOS (via button or phone shake). This sends the walker’s current GPS coordinates and the client’s address to their emergency contact via SMS and notifies the platform admin via email.
Shake-to-Alert: The app uses the phone’s accelerometer (motion sensor) to detect violent shaking during an active walk. The walker receives a 15-second countdown prompt. If they do not respond, an SOS is automatically sent. Motion data is not stored — it is processed in real-time on the device only.
Safety Check-ins: The system monitors walk duration. If a walk exceeds its expected time plus a buffer, the walker receives an SMS asking if they are okay. If there is no response within 10 minutes, an alert is sent to their emergency contact.
These features are optional and can be configured by the walker.
The app requests camera access to allow walkers to take photos for walk report cards.
The app requests photo library access to let walkers select existing photos for reports.
Photos are uploaded to AWS S3 and are visible only to the relevant pet owner and walker.
Motion / Accelerometer: Used solely for the Shake-to-Alert safety feature. It is active only during walks, processed in real-time on the device, and no motion data is stored or transmitted.

We share only with necessary subprocessors: Stripe/Square (payments), Stripe Identity (walker/sitter identity verification – see section 11), Twilio (SMS), SendGrid (email), Google Maps (GPS), AWS (hosting – us-west-2, Oregon). All sharing is strictly for operating the service and safety features.
By accepting the Walker Subscriber Acknowledgement and Waiver (at signup) or the Pet Owner Booking Acknowledgement and Joint Waiver of Liability (at booking), you agree to the releases and indemnities set out in those documents.
Under PIPEDA and BC PIPA you may access, correct, or request deletion of your information. California residents have additional rights under CCPA (we do not sell data). Email privacy@snoutwalker.com to exercise rights.
Active accounts: while needed. Walk data and GPS: 90 days post-walk (or longer for billing/safety records). We use reasonable security measures and will notify you of any material breach as required by law.
By using the Platform or our mobile apps you consent to this Privacy Policy.
With your consent, we send SMS text messages for booking and dog-walk reminders, booking confirmations, safety alerts, and one-time two-factor authentication (2FA) verification codes. Message frequency varies based on your walk schedule and login activity. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and reply HELP for assistance. Opting out of SMS will not affect your ability to use the core web platform.
We do not share or sell your mobile phone number, or your SMS opt-in consent, with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Mobile information is shared only with our messaging provider (Twilio) strictly to deliver the messages you have requested.
To keep the marketplace safe, dog walkers and pet sitters complete an identity check before they can be booked. This check — a government-issued photo ID plus a biometric selfie for liveness — is collected and processed by our verification provider, Stripe Identity, through Stripe’s secure hosted flow. Stripe stores the ID document and biometric data; SnoutWalker receives and stores only the verification result (a pass/fail status) and a session reference — we never store your raw ID image or selfie on our servers. This data is used solely to authenticate walkers/sitters and prevent fraud, and is never used for advertising or tracking. Pet owners are not asked to verify their identity. Stripe’s handling of this data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
